Classic Shrigley: witty, defiant and darkly funny, with his unmistakable deadpan humour
Available as a postcard on the Shrig Shop website and shop in Copenhagen.
David Shrigley is one of the most recognisable names in contemporary British art, known for his bold text-based works, dry humour and instantly identifiable visual style.
Born in Macclesfield, England in 1968, Shrigley works across drawing, printmaking, sculpture, animation, music and artist books.
He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2013 and was awarded an OBE for services to visual arts.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Copenhagen Contemporary in Denmark, Spritmuseum in Stockholm, Rose Art Museum in Massachusetts, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Kunsthalle Mainz in Germany, Museum Ludwig in Cologne and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
Shrigley’s limited edition prints are widely collected and have appeared at major international auction houses, including Christie’s.
The screenprint is also recognisable from Shrig Shop’s official postcard edition, so it is a familiar and highly collectable Shrigley work.
